About

Hi!
My name is Flavio Zappi, an ex-professional cyclist from Italy, currently living and racing in the U.K with the Zappi’s Cycling club.
Why this blog? Well, different reasons..
I suppose the main purpose is to share with other sports lovers such as myself, my experiences (both past and present), my attempts at improving training approaches, and valuable conversations with professionals or just cycling lovers from the cycling world.
I hope you can find something of value in my blog, and any feedback will be really appreciated!
Thanks!

Flavio,
You are the man.
Ciao,
Karl
Ciao Flavio
I have been reading quite a few articles in the press over the last few months with interest and have found what you are trying to achieve is very valuable considering road cycling in this country appears to be on the up – favoloso! Imagine my delight then when I came across Team Zappi’s name entered for the Lincoln GP that I, and a few others will be attending in May. No pressure, but you will have our support. While I am here, I noticed there is a form for club membership. For myself, I ride purely for pleasure but I would be interested to know if the membership is open to anyone whether they are competitive cyclists or not as I would love to be a member of Team Zappi. If not then no problem because I will still be at the Lincoln GP shouting FORZA ZAPPI!!!!!
Regards
Mark
Hi Mark,
thank you for your apreciation on what I’m trying to do, there are many young riders in England who need directions and a bit of support.
The club was put toghether for this purpose, to give this youngsters entry fee paid, transport, kit and a bike so they dont have to worrie and concentrate on training and perform well at Uni.
Soo far it works my boys are every race in the top 5, we won 3 races and we are 6 in the national ranking amongst Rapha, Motorpoint, etc.
Lincoln is very tecnical course I’m not sure if my boys are going to perform because there is a portion of riscks to take to get in the front before the climb, will see. To aswers your question, yes you can be fellow Zapponian, if you are coming to see me at the start or finish of the race you can take the membership form with you and I’ll take a top to try (L) so you can have an idea on what size a need to order.
See you in May.
Ciao
Flavio
