What is Go Ride?

Go-Ride – is British Cycling’s development programme for young people. The programme provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills. This is done in a traffic free environment through a mixture of games, exercises and races.

The Club is affiliated to British Cycling, with its activities covered by BC Insurance.
All Coaches are trained to Level 2 standard, have CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checks and have First Aid Certificates

Club rides
For new riders U16 we are planning on running British Cycling coached road and time-trial sessions in the future, so that they can pick up group riding techniques and stamina. In the meantime it might be best for U16 members to be accompanied by a parent or guardian if planning on doing club runs. In taking part in club rides parents/guardians are agreeing for their child to take part in the club’s activities entirely at their own risk and without any liability whatever on the part of Zappi’s Cycling Club, its’ officials or members, in respect of loss, injury or damage suffered, however caused. Please introduce yourself to the ride leader      before setting off and ask for permission to ride. Once we get the coached sessions up and running we hope to be able to provide an accreditation route for U16 riders to take part in regular club rides.

  8. Hi im a 13 year old boy and i cycle lots, i really want to start road racing, how can i sign up? :)

    • Great Danny to hear about your interest. Whilst under British Cycling rules you are not allowed to road race until you are 17 you can race on tarmac off road. The best place for this locally is Hillingdon where Zappi’s have raced usually from February to September, you will need a road bike for this.Initially I would advise you to build up your fitness levels and skills by taking part in the Zappi training and events locally. Cyclo-cross is a great start and we are running an event tomorrow, you will need a bike with knobbly tyres for this.
